CRUISE ON THE RIVER AND LUŽNICE RIVERS

The river boats of the Jihočeská plavební transport company offer cruises on the Vltava and Lužnice Rivers from Týn nad Vltavou. Cruises from Týn nad Vltavou take place from May to September. From Týn nad Vltavou, the cruise takes you to the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice and back (approx. 30 min). The longer route is through the confluence of the Vltava and Lužnice to the Kořensko waterworks (approx. 60 min). You can also choose a cruise from Týn across the confluence of the Vltava and the Lužnice and further along the Lužnice to Kolodějí nad Lužnicí and back. Here, you can get off at the Mitrowicz Chateau and use the stop for a tour and relaxation in the chateau complex, or take one of the hiking trails along the Lužnice River back to Týn (approx. 2 hours). Sailing from Týn nad Vltavou with the lock chamber (120 min) is a unique experience. Depending on the river conditions, you can take the route either through the Kořensko Reservoir with a short cruise along the Orlík waterworks, or in the opposite direction through the lock chamber under the Hněvkovice weir beneath the Hněvkovice waterworks.
During summer vacation, the boat company prepares a regular cruise line for visitors from Týn nad Vltavou through the boat-rowing village of Purkarec and the Vltava gorge to the Baba viewpoint. It includes two locks and sails through the beautiful rocky Karvanice nature reserve between the Hluboká game reserves. The historic Pálava cruise boat is used for this cruise. The boat departs every Monday in July and August. The marina in Týn nad Vltavou is located right near the central car park under the church, about 150 m from the town square. Depending on the weather, boat operation starts on May 1 and ends on September 31.
In Hluboká nad Vltavou, the boat company also operates a sightseeing ferry along the Munický Pond to the Hluboká Zoo / Ohrada Chateau. The ferry runs at regular intervals from June to the end of September/October. It connects the municipal part of Hluboká nad Vltavou with the Ohrada hunting chateau and the very popular Hluboká Zoo right next door. The ferry terminal is close to the Penny Market roundabout and the central car park.
