BOROVANY MONASTERY
This Augustinian monastery, founded in 1455 by Petr of Linda, was abolished under the Rožmberks and was restored in 1663 by Emperor Ferdinand III. In the middle of the 18th century the Scapular Chapel and the representative prelature were added. In 1785, the monastery was definitively abolished by Emperor Joseph II. The property of the prelature was owned by the Schwarzenbergs until 1939. Today,
the monastery serves as the cultural center of the town.

A unique culinary-cultural feast, dedicated to blueberries and goodies made from them, folk traditions and folklore. On 11. and 12. 7. 2020, the former Augustinian monastery and adjacent gardens will dress in blue for the sixteenth time.
